Training, Championship Results & Fixtures
Championship back on next week so Training tomorrow night (Wed 2nd) and Bank Holiday Monday (7th) 7.00pm
Bank Holiday Monday training session very important with both teams engaged in championship action in mid week so final opportunity to determine championship team line-ups, full attendance expected. First Team have a home game opportunity to get back on a winning groove. In last Saturday’s game a slow start (rabbit in the headlight’s) proved our failing and despite a spirited second half the bird had flown. The final scoreline doesn’t do justice to the game with some sloppy goals consolidating Clan na Geals hold on the game. We are better then that and Wednesday is the hour to put things right. Second Team had a first round bye with Pergines failing to field on Sunday last so all to play for Thursday 10th.

Civil Service Hurling Club (Evening Herald Notes Tuesday 1st May)
It wasn’t the start we had hoped for in the championship but its not the end of the world either. In Sean O’Moore Park on a sunny breezy Saturday evening 28th April, our first team were up against Clan na Gael in JHC “A”. The home team took a commanding lead in the first half and, although Civil Service fought back and more than matched their opponents in the second half, they could not recover the deficit. Our second team did not play as St Peregrines were unable to field a team in our JHC “E” fixture. Earlier in the week, in cup competitions on Tuesday 24th April, our first team beat Naomh Olafs in Islandrbridge but our second team were beaten by Lucan Sarsfields in Arthur Griffith Park. Back to training this week. On Monday and Wednesday everyone to be on the pitch in Islandbridge at 7pm sharp. A word of thanks to our new sponsors, the Merchant Arch pub, for our new jerseys which got their first outing in the JHC on Saturday. We didn’t win the match but the lads looked very well!
